Format of the proposals (rules for submission)

Languages: Portuguese, Spanish, French or English.

Submission format: Extended abstract without authors’ identification, between 600 and 1000 words, followed by 3 to 5 keywords that best represent the subject and the thematic area of the submission as well as the main Bibliographic References (not included in the word count). The work should not have been published, be in the process of being published or been presented in other events.

For the evaluation of submitted proposals, the following criteria will be applied: clarity of title, keywords and bibliographic references; relevance of the subject considering its suitability and topicality; deepness in the approach and clarity in the delimitation of the addressed musical repertoire, in the presentation of the problem, in the methodology and in the conclusions.

Format of the presentation: Oral presentation or poster, to be specified in the submitted abstract. The final format of the presentation (oral or poster) will be communicated to the authors after the evaluation process.

Content of the abstract: The abstract should contain a clear and concise presentation of the relevant points of the article to be presented later. It should be initiated by an explanation of the main subject of the document, followed by the main goals, implications, delimitations and scope of the work. The theoretical-methodological references used should be described and the main results and conclusions should be made explicit.

Evaluation criteria: The evaluation will be done adopting the “double blind” system, without the identity of the author being revealed to either reviewers. In the event of a tie in the evaluations, a third review will be requested under the same conditions as the first two. Each reviewer should complete an evaluation form, containing a field for the grading of the work and a field for expressing the opinion and suggestions for improvement of the work / text. This field is required in case of rejection of the work.

The recommendations and observations made by the reviewers will be forwarded to the authors for their knowledge and, when approved, should result in improvements for the writing of the complete final article, following the template available on the event’s website. Special attention should be given to spelling, abstract, title, text coherence, bibliography, formatting, template, word count etc., which must be carried out and sent by the date specified in the schedule. Authors of approved papers will be requested to submit the paper in its final form in one of the following formats: .docx .doc, odt or latex (text and pdf).

Abstract submissions, in pdf format, should be sent to eitam5.submissoes@gmail.com

The authors of the best ten articles will be invited to write an extended version for publication in a special issue of the Revista Música da USP, available at http://www.revistas.usp.br/revistamusica/issue/archive
